We Get Questions...

|
Q.) Our account holder noticed several deposits (ACH credits) from MISC PAY APA TREAS 310 on their account statement and they are not sure why they are receiving them. We’ve looked for a phone number for the ODFI in the Fed’s e-Payments Routing Directory, but nothing comes up. Where can I find contact information for these transactions?
A.) Treasury routing numbers are not included in the Fed directory. Instead, you (the RDFI) can call Treasury’s Payment Management Call Center if the account holder believes they may be entitled to the funds. That number is (855) 868-0151 and is intended for use by financial institutions when looking for information related to Federal payments, including Social Security, VA, Railroad Retirement, etc. Otherwise, you can return the transactions using the R23 return code (Credit Entry Refused by Receiver). This will prompt Treasury to review the original authorization and make corrections.

ACH Rules Product Survey
A current survey, developed by Nacha and the Center for Payments (including TCHPA), is asking members to provide answers to questions about your use and preferences relating to the ACH Rules products (books, online access codes and digital apps). This short, 9-question anonymous survey typically takes only 1 minute to complete.
|
|
Your responses will be helpful to our team as we plan for TCHPA’s annual pre-production sale of the 2021 ACH Rules products as well as pricing and order fulfillment in the future. PLEASE take a moment to provide feedback.

Nominations Open for 2020 Lakin-Hobday Award
Do you know someone who enthusiastically embraces their payments career and deserves to be recognized for their efforts? The Lakin-Hobday Award recognizes the extraordinary contributions and characteristics of successful payments professionals and the first recipients of the prestigious award were none other than its namesakes. Linda Lakin (now retired from Comerica Bank) and Donna Hobday (Century Bank & Trust) proved time and again that they possess the qualities associated with the payments excellence award by volunteering to serve on committees and workgroups (at the local and national level), supporting and mentoring their peers, and continually lending their time and expertise when asked to participate in events beyond the walls of their regular work world.
|
Members of The Clearing House Payments Authority are invited to nominate individuals who possess the qualities associated with this award by sending an email to education.services@theclearinghouse.org and including 'Lakin-Hobday Nomination' in the subject line. Tell us why you think your nominee deserves to win and provide examples of their commitment to the payments industry, influence, leadership and volunteerism.
The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, August 7, 2020. This year’s winner will be announced in October.

Concepts 2020 – Change of Plans
Like so many in-person events this year, Concept 2020 has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Putting the safety of attendees, speakers and exhibitors first, we do not believe a face-to-face event is in anyone’s best interest. With this in mind, we have decided to cancel the previously scheduled conference in its original format. Instead, we will deliver Concepts as a virtual event, with all sessions presented via live, interactive webinars on the same scheduled dates – Thursday, October 22nd and Friday, October 23rd.

We are busy working through the best practices of virtual events and plan to impress!
